Some stuff to report…

Will’s in New York for some kind of tech conference.  He’s there with his friend Ben, who is one of the presenters.  Every so often he texts me about how much fun he’s having.

This past weekend, I visited Jon and Julie and Patrick at the army base.  Patrick is five and he seems to be a big fan of me.  We had the sleep over he’s so been longing for so I could more easily avoid driving home alone in the dark.  He painted a picture of me and a picture of Will.  We read some books and he taught me some karate.  It was nice to go somewhere else while Will is away.  Only a few more days and he’ll be back.

On the brighter side, without Will around I’ve been able to let loose my inner slob.  I haven’t been putting the dirty dishes in the dishwasher and, and, AND instead of putting the toilet paper on the toilet paper holder, I just set it on top the vanity.

Last Friday I led a million Kaplan students in pumpkin carving.  By a million I mean about 25.  I did not expect the event to be so popular.  They actually did a really good job and they cleaned up after themselves nicely.

We made an offer on a house and the offer was accepted.  If everything goes right, we’ll be moving in December.  It’s a condo with a small yard and big bathtubs.  It’s a two bedroom, which means we’ll be able to properly host from-out-of-town guesties.  It’s a little exciting.  I think it might be fun to try hosting a Kaplan student.  And we can get a dog.

I might volunteer working at the ticket table at a community Christmas play.  I’m interested in some kind of community involvement.  The woman who usually runs the ticket counter is one of the actors in the play this year.  I got the info about it from a woman I work with who is also an actor in the play.

Will gets back on Thursday.  Then on Saturday we’re off to sunny Florida to meet Kari Jesse, boys, and Mom and Dad.  That’s definitely something to look forward to.  It’s going to be our Christmas with my family.  Then in December, we’ll be going back to Florida to see Will’s sister and meet up with Will’s parents.  It’s going to be a busy few months.

  • Enjoy it while you can! The second I’m home I’m going to get that place back into shape… or sleep. One of the two.

  • I was just going to send an email asking what you guys were up to! It’s been a while since I’ve seen an update.

Congrats on the house! That is very exciting.
