Miscellaneous Post

This is kind of a mish-mash post, so we’ll just dive right in with a picture of the ARS Electronica center the other night:

ARS

Kinda creepy. it was all foggy, so it had this weird glow it doesn’t have on clear nights.

Next, we have an observation of Austrian culture. You know how in the states you can park anywhere that’s not marked as “No Parking”? We use yellow sections of curb to indicate that parking is forbidden. Well, Austria does things a little different. Instead of marking where NOT to park, they mark where you CAN park. Here’s a shot of the street from our window:

See the white boxes with the blue curb? Those are ares you can park. Weird, huh?

The last thing to talk about is snacks. We’ve… I’ve made it a point to try new foods… unfortunately most of these foods are desserts of some sort. This afternoon we grabbed some “Tender”.

Tender

At least I think that’s what they’re called. The “milch” bit says they’re “milk flavored”. You can also buy “Tender Nugat”. So, name aside, we ripped it open to find three individually wrapped thingers:

Once you remove the protective armor from the tasty, you get a chocolate log.

Biting into it, you find a cake with a tiny, tiny bit of milk frosting vein. It’s pretty tasty really. The milk flavored was good, so maybe we’ll try the nougat. We only bought it because it was on sale though, so if it goes off sale, the nougat will have to wait! Sad! Oh, yeah, might as well show you the guts:

We also tried some Pepsi for the first time. While the Coke over here is far superior to the American version, the Pepsi isn’t anything amazing. Probably why it’s hard to find and is super cheap compared to Coke. We probably won’t be buying that again.
