During our trip to Toys R Us, I discovered a potential problem. Let me preface this by saying that Austrian toys are awesome. They are traditional toys that you pair with your imagination to really get the full experience. Things like plastic food that you can play with. Or blocks. Or gigantic plastic robots. The normal stuff.<\/p>\n

There’s also a pretty big quality difference in some cases. I’ve seen a few lines of toys that are all die cast metal. That’s hard to find in the states. Well, there’s an entire aisle at Toys R Us.<\/p>\n

Everything you see there is a metal die cast scale replica of some piece of machinery. Gah. *drools* I could blow our entire year’s budget in about 10 minutes in that aisle. It’s just crazy! Here, look at this:<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Yeah, that’s a John Deere combine. It’s 1:32 scale, so it’s about a foot long. It’s even got a trailer you can put the header on and attach to the back of the combine. It’s amazing. It’s also 60 Euro. See the dilemma? No? Well, they have other stuff. Here’s a beet harvester:<\/p>\n

Also a foot long, but this time 80 Euro. Still not convinced that this is a dangerous, dangerous place? BAM! 75 Euro, 24 inch high crane!<\/p>\n

What’s that? Not enough? KA-BAM! 95 Euro super amazing really tall, so tall I forget how tall, mega crane!<\/p>\n

I guess I don’t need to get the really big cool ones. There are smaller sets.<\/p>\n

Not as big, not as expensive, but still cheap. If I had a way to get these back home, oh man. Mary Jo would kill me.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
