We don’t update often… there’s not much we do that’s worth blogging about. Unless you want an update on how much Internetting we did?<\/p>\n

Anyway, we have pictures again!<\/p>\n

Last weekend we went down to Julie and Jon’s place, then went over to Mount Rainier National Park. As in, the big mountain we keep talking about. Unfortunately it was one of the 367 days of the year the mountain is hidden behind clouds, but we still got to see lots of neat little mountains on the way up Mount Rainier<\/a>:<\/p>\n

Oh, perhaps that requires some explanation. There’s a road that goes up a ways to one of the base camps. The road doesn’t go up the entire mountain, but it’s still a nice little drive. They got a fresh snow up there, so there was lots of snow, but the roads were clear (they make sure of that… it is a dangerous mountain pass after all):<\/p>\n

We stopped pretty early on to gawk.<\/p>\n

There are little bridges and waterfalls on the way up too, so we had to stop and gawk at those too.<\/p>\n

It really was very pretty.<\/p>\n

Some of the roads going up were stuck on the side of a mountain. I made it a point not to teak pictures of the insane drop off the edge of the road. All the pictures are nice stable shots.<\/p>\n

We eventually reached Paradise, which is the little area that’s most visited in Mount Rainier National Park<\/a>. This is where you’d be getting great views on a clear day. We didn’t go on a clear day.<\/p>\n

This looks like it was really snowy, but that’s steam coming off the parking lot:<\/p>\n

I’m not sure why, but the road was steaming everywhere. It was kinda freaky.<\/p>\n

Inside the visitor’s center I managed to get the best shot of Mount Rainier all day.<\/p>\n

We were at the high point of the little yellow dotted line in the lower left.<\/p>\n

We visited the gift shop quick, but it was getting on in the afternoon, so we headed back down.<\/p>\n

Some friends of Julie and Jon’s came with. They had a new puppy that we got to meet. Joni made a friend.<\/p>\n

We did luck out with a little sun every now and then.<\/p>\n

After we got out of the park we headed back to Julie and Jon’s place, with a stop over to try one of the best restaurants they know. The food was pretty great, but between all of us being tired and starving and some issues with the service, it kinda turned into a “meh” situation. Oh well.<\/p>\n

We got back to Julie and Jon’s moved over to our car, then headed up. We got back kinda late, so we just went straight to bed, which is what I’m going to do now! We think we’re both getting sick. \ud83d\ude41<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
