Most trains run about 140-160 kph.  That&#8217;s about 87mph to 100mph.  We were on a train the other day coming back from Munich that managed to get up to 195kph.  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=190+kph+to+mph\">That&#8217;s<\/a> a whopping 121mph.<\/p>\n<p>That sounds fast, but there are faster trains.  Certain trains in Europe that are on new rail can get up to 160mph.  One <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Magnetic_levitation_train\">maglev<\/a> train in China reaches <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Shanghai_Maglev_Train\">268mph<\/a>.  The world speed record is held by a Japanese <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/MLX01\">test train<\/a> that managed to hit 362mph.<\/p>\n<p>Now that&#8217;s impressive.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We use the train a lot to get around Austria and into Germany.
