The big 8 our flight went OK over all.\u00a0 The plane had little TVs built into the seats in front of us, so we got to watch movies the whole way.\u00a0 That bit was nice… but a hair depressing.\u00a0 Before we took off I was looking through the selections.\u00a0 You know what they had?\u00a0 Iron Man 2.\u00a0 Yeah.\u00a0 I was darned excited.\u00a0 As soon as we took off, the selections changed.\u00a0 I checked the little printed thing and found out that they show different movies going from Sweden to the US than from the US to Sweden.\u00a0 Jerks.<\/p>\n

At least it had a decent view:

We had some pretty decent supper in flight.\u00a0 Meat, taters, cheesecake.\u00a0 No complaints.\u00a0 Toward the end of the flight we were getting a little tired of sitting for so long.\u00a0 The whole timeshift thing was also getting to us.\u00a0 We hadn’t slept yet, and we were already about 19 hours into the whole thing.<\/p>\n

As we got closer to the Stockholm airport, we noticed something very weird.\u00a0 There was no city.\u00a0 It was just farms and trees and a dang airport sitting in the middle of it all.\u00a0 Kind of weird!\u00a0 We got landed and found our way into the terminal.\u00a0 After customs, we immediately had to go through security… again.\u00a0 Swedish security is not nearly as crazy as US security.\u00a0 It was nice.\u00a0 The pat down lady was very gentle.<\/p>\n

Now, this Swedish airport is incredible.\u00a0 Hardwood floors, fancy architecture, lots of glass and exposed steel, stone floors in some areas, and large open spaces make it an absolute joy to be there.\u00a0 If it weren’t for the crazy currency and bathrooms that essentially have three tiny bathrooms inside them, I’d stay there for a week.\u00a0 Seriously though, the \u201cbathroom\u201d is a room with a sink, hand (paper) towels, and three smaller rooms with toilets, a sink, and more hand towels in each.\u00a0 It was strange.<\/p>\n

We sat around Stockholm for about an hour and a half.\u00a0 We each took a 30 minute nap in rotation.\u00a0 We also found out that the airport is built away from the city.\u00a0 You can take the Airport Express bullet train and get there in only 20 minutes!<\/p>\n
