Last Thursday (the 26th), we finally decided to head down to the Linz Offenes Kulturhaus<\/a> (OK) to see what that was all about. We kept seeing these big wood walkways on top of this shopping center, and one of my students told me that you can go up there.\u00a0 And they incorporate art pieces into the bridges on the roof.\u00a0 It’s neat.<\/p>\n

But you don’t go out onto the roof right away:<\/p>\n

\"Water<\/a><\/p>\n

That is a room full of ankle deep water.\u00a0 That’s me on the other side of the room.\u00a0 If you look up at the ceiling, you can see that the water reflects the light from the windows.\u00a0 The floor is sealed with sheets of plastic and they have a filter.<\/p>\n

\"Filter\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Will was amused by the fire alarms in the room full of water.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The water room was one of our favorite parts, I think.<\/p>\n

<\/param><\/param><\/param><\/embed><\/object><\/p>\n

It was neat.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Now onto the bridges.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

There were some neat views<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

And some art.\u00a0 Like boats and junk.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

And a moon lander.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The bridges lead to one of the church steeples.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Will didn’t look down.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Will wanted to know why there was a turnstile here.\u00a0 We concluded it was so you couldn’t go backward.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Inside the church steeple, there was a wind machine.<\/p>\n

<\/param><\/param><\/param><\/embed><\/object><\/p>\n

There was a nice view of the cathedral.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

And of the main street.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

We had never see the top of a tram before.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I guess for every 1200 people who visit, they add a new solar panel.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

There was a fountain with some shady places to sit.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

There were these things for kids that they were supposed to go inside and there were little trivia questions and pictures in there.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

This fountain was neat.\u00a0 The different parts of it would shut off and on randomly.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

That fountain was fun.<\/p>\n

<\/param><\/param><\/param><\/embed><\/object><\/p>\n

There was also an area full of mist.<\/p>\n

<\/param><\/param><\/param><\/embed><\/object><\/p>\n

There was a machine that blew bubbles using smoky air.\u00a0 You can see the smoke left from where I popped a bubble.<\/p>\n

<\/param><\/param><\/param><\/embed><\/object><\/p>\n

There was also an exhibit about breath. I left them some of mine.<\/p>\n

<\/param><\/param><\/param><\/embed><\/object><\/p>\n

There was also this giant coil that was icy.\u00a0 We didn’t get a picture of it, because we were hurried into the attic of the church for a tour. \u00a0\u00a0 Maybe we’ll go back some time later, since we can get in free with our culture cards.<\/p>\n
