It’s December

It’s been a while since we’ve updated.  Not much is going on.  We go to work, we come home, we eat food, we watch shows or dick around on the Internet.  On the weekend we go grocery shopping and do laundry.

We did actually venture out a few times this past weekend.  On Friday we went to the Lenin Lighting.  There is a big bronze statue of Vladimir Lenin on one of the corners in our neighborhood.  The Fremont Chamber of Commerce puts lights and a Santa hat on him.  They had a little lighting ceremony where they also talked a little bit about our local businesses.  There was some live music, some free tiny pies and hot chocolate, and Santa Claus was there giving clementines to the good little girls and boys.  After the Lenin Lighting, there was the Art Walk which seems to be a thing where the area businesses are open and they have free snacks.

Saturday we went downtown for a little bit.  We stopped into a few stores.  Will still had some credits on a card from GameWorks so we went there for lunch.  GameWorks is basically an arcade and restaurant.  It’s a bit like Chuck E. Cheese, but without rides.  They had Skeeball, which is the most important thing.  Unfortunately, the Skeeball machine did not give tickets, which is necessary to make it really satisfying.  Mmmm… Skeeball.

On Sunday we did the usual shopping and laundry stuff.  Monday was back to work.  I like what I’m doing.  Right now I only have six students in my main class.  It’s sort of weird to have so few but they get along pretty well with each other so it’s nice and cozy and fun.  It’s easy to play games or take field trips with so few students.  And because of the holidays, we’re not likely to get many more new students in the next two weeks.

I looooove Christmas.  As I told Will, Christmas is the Bestmas.  I’m not sure what that means, but it sounds good.  Tomorrow is the Kaplan holiday party.  I’m warming up to the people I work with, so that could be fun.  We’re also making a trip to Minnesota, which is something to look forward to. 😀  Our shopping is mostly done; the Internet makes if easy.

It’s December.  Will says he feels freaked out about that because he still thinks it’s September.
