When I learned German in high school, it was all based around little stories about these two young people named Michael und Sabine. They would do things related to the vocabulary and cultural items that people learn when they learn German. For example, we learn about their families, they go out to eat, do chores, celebrate Christmas, go to the beach, go shopping and so on.
Early in the series, they go to Vienna, go to Hotel Sacher, have some Sachertorte, and ride in a horse drawn carriage. It’s fun to see and do those things myself after learning about them so long ago.
