Going to the Movies

Last Tuesday we decided to go to the movies.  Joni had gone to a couple before, but it was my first time.  We decided to see Thor. Most movies are dubbed into German, but some theatres play original version (or OV) with English audio. We found a theatre that had Thor OV on Tuesdays, so we went to see it.

Getting out there as an adventure. The theatre is attached to a shopping center where I got my Xbox, so we’d been there before. Normally we go to the train station, then catch a direct bus to the shopping center. This time though, we decided to take only buses out there using the back roads. It was pretty interesting. We took a bus from the dorm out to the middle of no where, waited 15 minutes, then took another bus to near the theatre. When we got to that stop, we were running a little behind because of traffic. We just baaaarely caught our transfer, but we made it.

We got to the shopping center a little early, so we checked out the toy store and had some food. Then we went to the theatre and looked around. The theatre is integrated with the mall, so there are restaurants and a big arcade all attached. The arcade was neat. They had a giant claw machine. You know those regular claw machines where you maneuver the claw into place, then drop it and try to fish out a prize? These giant claw machines were the exact same thing, but the claw was 2 feet across and the prizes were giant stuffed things. There was more than one of these machines too. One was Sponge Bob themed. We tried to get a giant Patrick, but it didn’t work out.

After the movie we had a bit of a wait for the bus, so we sat around outside one of the closed cafes until the bus arrived. We took the sane route back through the train station. We got home about 11:15 and went to bed. All in all, it was a pretty good night.

Also, Thor = pretty dang good. If you’re into Iron Man, The Hulk, or Captain America, it’s a must see… but if you’re into those things, then you know why it’s a must see. The rest of you, see it anyway, it’s still a pretty good movie.

On another note, our one year wedding anniversary is coming up. How crazy is that?!
